Sleep For Toddlers Can Be Problematic..

I battle a bit with bedtime and I guess most of it is my own fault. As babies I just loved singing them to sleep, and I still do that quite a bit. I also read a story or 2 before bed and the boys always ask for more. But then my toddlers won’t just go to sleep if I leave the room.

I’m quite torn in two about what to do with this. My husband tells me I should just walk out but I know what will happen next. The older one starts with “I’m scared mummy come back” and works himself into a lather taking the younger one with him. So now how is anyone going to get any sleep with this going on?…I cave spend 20min sitting or lying quietly in their room and everyones asleep. Then I’m off the clock.

I want to be able to just wander off with them content and happy but I just can’t find it in myself to deal with the trauma that seems to involve at the moment. So I’m doing some research now on the net to help me solve this little problem.

I’ve just found a good little site called Raising Children Network that may have the answer. But if you have been through a similar experience then please make a comment in the comment area below. Anything that might make sleep for toddlers and parents at bedtime easier, is a helpful thing.

Glenys
