Playpen at Cafe Mama
This week I finally got back to testing out and reviewing another child friendly café. Café Mama is located in the “Homebase”, Newmarket Rd, Windsor. I’d never been there before, and my first impression was that it looked like a standard café. From the outside you have an uninterrupted view into the café as it is on a corner with glass for walls. It is a very modern, clean café.
On closer inspection you’ll find a playpen in the café, with perhaps a couple of small children in it. Since M is now in preschool, E and I had a nice time enjoying each other’s company over a cupcake and water and Mocha. It was a nice cup-cake, actually the menu is rather impressive. I’d like to try lunch here.
I think this would be a great spot for mums with babies and small kids. E is 2.5 and I think kids a bit older than this would be looking for a bit more entertainment than is provided in the playpen, if you were to be staying for a while. However that said it is definitely a nice spot to be and Scott the manager makes you feel very welcome as soon as you walk in the door.
Cafe Mama
I would like to come back again and use this café as a training ground to help teach my boys how to behave and eat nicely in public. We don’t often go out to restaurants and it’s good to know there are places to go that have a good variety of choice on the menu. Also we won’t be run out if someone knocks over their drink or looses their meal to the floor.
Cheers
